Wear clothing suited to the occasion- Day wear

I am going to tackle this rule of etiquette head on.

I specifically talk about this in my book, She So Ghetto.

We'll start with the letter "D".

D stands for "Daywear."

I am very specific about what to wear during the day vs. the night.

And, so I won't bore you, I will have visual aids.

With Day wear, you NEVER:

  1. Wear a skirt or dress above over one inch above the knee.
  2. Wear a Mini skirt or shorts.
  3. Wear jeans with sneakers*.
  4. Never wear sultry clothing to school, work, office.
  5. Never wear stripper or hooker looking clothing.
  6. Almost never wear stilettos.
Don't take the focus of the day and place it on you. You want to look nice, but you don't want draw every lustful look from the guys because you are dressed for the bedroom.

Here are three important reminders:

  • The lighter it is outside, the longer the skirt/dress should be.
  • The lighter it is outside, the less sheer you top should be.
  • The lighter it is outside, the lower you shoe heel should be.

Here are some examples of daywear:
Skirts
A-Line Skirt: This skirt fits every shape. A must have for every wardrobe. Perfect for Day wear.

I love pencil skirts. A perfect mix of feminine & lady.
For the day, you can do a heel, but for younger ladies, a nice ballet flat will do.

NEXT TIME: DAY WEAR JACKET MUST HAVES!
